由于试题的要求高、立意新、综合性强, 很多考生在这个题型上频频失误。为了让考生全面了解和掌握这一题型的命题特点, 笔者将对这个题型进行深入细致的分析, 并为考生提供一些解题技巧和备考建议。

一、命题特点

众所周知, 完形填空由短文和选项两部分构成。在短文中通常设置20个空格, 要求考生从四个选项中选出一个最佳选项填入空格, 使短文前后连贯、文意通畅、结构完整。

(一) 短文的特点

1. 文章长度。

从近年的高考完形填空题的篇幅来看, 完形填空所选短文的长度大多在240~320词之间, 难度上基本与现行高三教材相当。如果文章太短, 空格与空格之间单词太少, 为考生提供的信息量就相对较少, 不利于考生准确把握文章的大意。反之, 如果文章太长, 空格之间的词数太多, 虽然能提供充足的信息量, 但是考生需要花费更多的时间和精力去理解全文, 使考生没有充足的时间去完成其他试题, 导致水平不能正常发挥。

2. 文章的体裁和题材。

体裁上, 以叙为主, 叙议结合。高考完形填空题的选材多为具有一定故事情节的记叙文或是叙议结合、以叙为主、富有哲理的论说文, 这和高考考生的语言水平紧密结合。高考英语是各级各类英语测试中相对比较简单的一种, 因而采取了常见体裁中较简单的记叙文作为题目载体。因此, 短文一般按照时间线索行文, 内部逻辑清晰、层次分明。

题材上, 选用实际生活中的语言材料, 考查考生使用语言进行信息获取和社会交际的能力, 对社会生活、校园生活、奇闻轶事等热点话题继续关注, 并兼顾高考的公平性原则, 不涉及特定地域或人群色彩较浓的不具有一般性的话题。

完形填空题的选材新颖, 话题广泛, 内容多样。内容大多与当代人们的社会生活密切相关, 兼顾中学生的一些亲身体验, 或在日常学习和生活中间接体验过的事情。由于考生对记叙文比较熟悉, 所以理解起来比较容易, 从而有利于考生在高考中正常地发挥。

(二) 选项的特点

选项的词性保持基本一致。观察20个题的选项可知, 每题备选的四个选项的词性通常是一致的, 即要么全部是动词 (词组) , 要么全部是名词、形容词、副词、连词、介词等。偶尔也会出现四个选项的类别不完全一致的情况。例如2013年新课标全国卷I的第38题, “Some members, 38, chose to use wheellchairs.Others wore sound-blocking earplugs (耳塞) or blindfolds (眼罩) .”四个选项中两个选项是副词 (A.instead B.strangely) , 另两个选项是介词短语 (C.as usual D.like me) 。2015年全国卷I中的第54题的选项中, 三个选项是复合代词 (A.whoever B.whatever C.whichever) , 而另一个选项是连词 (D.whenever) 。2016年全国卷I中的第52题的选项中三个选项是形容词 (A.quiet B.still D.calm) , 一个选项是副词 (C.away) ;第59题的选项中, 两个选项是介词短语 (A.for certain B.for consideration) , 另两个是过去分词 (C.reported D.checked) 。

虽然个别试题的四个选项的词性不完全一致, 但是每个选项填入空格后, 在语法上都是正确的, 只是句意不同。由此可见, 完形填空注重考查考生在整体理解语篇的基础上, 对句子意义的理解及对选项意义的辨析, 淡化了对语法知识的考查。

二、命题趋势

完形填空题命制的一个重要原则是“词语抽出能还原”, 所选的词语能够在上下文语境中找到支撑的线索。有些线索是明显的, 有些线索是隐含的, 需要考生进行适当的推断才能发现。因此, 考生应立足语篇, 从整体出发, 考虑上下文语境、联系前后文意思、后前照应, 依据文章的暗示来寻找答案。

(一) 考点分析

首先, 该题型所选短文一般没有标题, 但首句通常不设空, 目的是让考生熟悉语言环境, 迅速进入主题, 对文章进行一个整体的把握, 建立正确的思维导向。短文中通常挖去20个词 (组) , 挖空两词之间最短为5个词, 最长为20个词, 平均每14词挖一个空, 通常不会出现两个空格前后相连, 或同一句子挖空超过三个的情况。

其次, 设空处以实词为主, 虚词为辅。语言包括形式和内容两个方面, 而完形填空题多重视考查语言的内容, 这是与承载具体信息的实词密切相关的。在高考淡化对语法考查的背景下, 完形填空题对虚词的考查数量不断下降, 目前仅有1~4空。

具体挖空时, 严格遵循“重复原则”, 即挖去的词通常都在保留的上下文中给出解题的线索。并且, 一些空格的解题线索多不在本空格所在的句子中, 而在上一句或下一句中, 或上几句或下几句中, 所以考生在答题时, 应能够跨越空格所在的单句, 结合文章的上下文来找答案。

分析近年的高考完形填空题的设空规律可知, 主要考查动词 (词组) 、名词 (短语) 、形容词 (短语) 及副词等词, 少数试题涉及代词、连词、介词 (短语) 等。完形填空几乎不涉及对冠词、数词等的考查。由此可知, 完形填空主要考查考生对重点基础词汇知识的掌握、对文章的整体理解以及综合语言应用能力。

(二) 考查层面分析

从近几年的高考完形填空题来考, 完形填空大致从以下几个层面来设题, 即句子理解层面、语境理解层面、情境理解层面、逻辑理解层面及语篇理解层面。

1. 从句子理解层面设题。

这类设题考查考生正确理解句子意思的能力, 要求考生在理解句子意思的基础上, 从四个选项中选出正确答案。这类题在高考完形填空中出现的非常多, 考生应根据句意进行推理和判断。例如2016年新课标全国卷I的第41和42题:

【解析】根据第一句可知, 拉里 (Larry) 送完货后返程回家, 正沿着公路行驶。因此41题应填traveling“前进”, 故最佳答案为C。根据语境可知, 司机通常为“客户”送货, 因此42题应填customers“顾客”, 故最佳答案为D。

2. 从语境理解层面设题。

这类设题考查考生对上下文的理解能力, 要求考生能够根据上下文的语境判断空格应填哪个词。这类试题所占的比例最大。例如2016年新课标全国卷I的第43~47题:

【解析】根据语境可知, 拉里先看到公路上有一辆汽车的灯亮着。当他走进时, 他看到另一辆车倾覆在路上。因此第43题填连词As, 连接时间状语从句。第44题填代词another, 表示“又一辆”。根据本段的最后两句可知, 他抓住灭火器, 对着火苗用力喷射两轮后, 终于把火扑灭。由此可知第45题应填flames“火焰”, 第47题应填gotthold of, 意为“抓住”。再根据上文提到汽车倾覆在公路上, 可推测46题应填disabled, 此处指“出故障的”。

语境类试题的解题信息通常出现在空格前面或后面的句子中, 考生应认真从上下文中找出解题的暗示, 通过上下文提供的信息来推断出正确答案。

3. 从情境理解层面设题。

这类设题考查考生对文章中的句子所描绘的情境的准确理解能力, 要求考生根据语言描述, 置身其中, 从而选出正确答案。例如2016年新课标全国卷I的第48~55题:

【解析】根据and后的“told Larry he had...”可知, 开着汽车大灯的那个汽车司机走了过来 (came over) , 并告诉拉里, 他已经打过急救电话 (make an emergency call) , 因此48题和49题的最佳答案为D和C。

就在他们交谈的过程中, 这时 (then) 他们听到了倾覆的汽车下面发出一个女人的声音, 故第50题的最佳答案为A。他们走近 (approach) 这辆出事的汽车, 看到被困在车里的那个女司机试图从车窗爬出来, 故第51题的最佳答案为D。他们告诉这位女士, 在医护人员到来前先不要动 (stay still) , 因此第52题的最佳答案为B。但是 (but) 这位女士担心她的车会爆炸 (ex-plode) , 所以急于逃离。由于前后句之间是转折关系, 故第53题和第54题的最佳答案为D和A。拉里告诉她, 他已经把火扑灭, 所以她应该别动, 以免 (in case) 导致颈部受伤, 故第55题选C。

4. 从逻辑理解层面设题。

这类设题主要考查考生的逻辑推理能力, 要求考生根据事情发生、发展的规律, 按照作者的思维、表达方式, 对文章进行分析, 然后选出正确答案。例如2016年新课标全国卷I的第56~58题:

【解析】考生逻辑推理后可知, 当消防员和医务人员赶到后, 拉里和另一位司机退离 (back off) 事故现场, 方便他们开展救援工作。然后, 拉里询问警察 (police) 是否需要他留下帮忙, 或他是否可以自行离开 (free to go) 。根据下文“They let him and the other man go.”可知, 警察让拉里和另一名司机离开了。

5. 从语篇理解层面设题。

这类题的设题主要考查考生对文章的故事情节、脉络、篇章结构和中心思想层次等的把握能力, 要求考生在理解整篇文章的基础上, 抓住全文的脉络, 理清作者的主要观点或感悟, 然后进行准确的推理、判断, 从而选出正确答案。

这类试题往往出现在文章的开头或结尾, 提纲挈领概括全文, 或对整个事件进行高度概括或评论。如果单从句子、上下文或逻辑等层面进行考虑, 考生很难找到正确答案, 必须从全篇入手, 全盘考虑。例如2016年新课标全国卷I第59~60题:

【解析】根据前文可知, 被困在倾覆后燃烧着的汽车中的那位女士最终获救。正是拉里和另一位司机在关键时刻伸出援手, 才使遇险的女士脱险。这一点是确定无疑的 (for cer-tain) 。换言之, 是拉里的努力 (efforts) 挽救了这位女司机的生命。

考生只有整体把握文章的大意, 才能准确理解最后一段里作者表达的观点:拉里所做的一切已经远远超出他的职责范围。他勇敢走进倾覆的汽车、努力扑灭燃烧的大火, 挽救了那个女士的生命。

三、解题策略

完形填空是在阅读的基础上综合考查学生的逻辑思维能力和对具体语境的把握能力。完形填空得分的高低关系着高考的成败。

(一) 答题原则

1. 坚持“先完意, 后完形”。

考生应首先把握文章结构, 理解全文的内容, 根据上下文的语境来选出正确答案。做题前, 考生应先浏览全文, 掌握大意。花2~3分钟的时间进行缺词阅读, 大致了解文中的人物、时间、地点、事件、经过和结果 (who, whattwhen, where和how) , 掌握故事的线索。

2. 注意首段和尾端。

特别注意首段和尾段以及每个段落的首句, 有利于把握文章结构和文章的主旨大意。在驾驭文章结构和大意的基础上, 再逐空进行选择。

3. 先易后难。

先填上固定搭配、习惯表达等较容易的空格, 对语境和语义还不太明确的选项要结合上下文, 反复推敲。

4.“文中无闲句, 句中无闲词”。

注意文中表示分类、对比、从属、并列等关系的词语。

(二) 解题策略

根据上述分析, 结合多年的高三复习备考的经验, 笔者总结出以下解答完形填空题的方法和技巧。

1. 快速阅读, 克服障碍。

阅读犹如跨越鸿沟, 速度快了就能一跨而过。如果速度太慢, 就跨不过去。其实, 完形填空也是如此。只有快速阅读, 把句子与句子串联起来进行理解, 考生才能从整体上把握文意和句意, 跨过文中的空格造成的障碍, 正确理解句子, 否则就会受到空格的影响, 对句子的理解产生偏差。快速阅读能把短文的故事情节联系起来, 有助于整体理解文意, 减少生词和难句带来的理解方面的障碍。

2. 挖掘主题, 理解全文。

做完形填空题时, 考生应根据文章主题来考虑空格处的用词, 否则就会偏离主题, 导致误选。例如2016年新课标全国卷II的完形填空, 文章较短, 信息量不大, 因此解题难度相对较大。从第一段介绍电话的作用可以判断本文的内容与电话强大的功能有关。但是, 结合下文作者陈述了自己一次和旅行社工作人员Ra-ni打交道的经历, 作者试图向读者说明一个简单的道理:一个人的微笑、点头和愿意为你服务的态度是非常重要的。这些身体语言是无声的信号, 是无法用电话传播的, 所以作者曾对Rani产生过一些误解。如果能够抓住这一主题, 考生就更容易理解全文。例如2016年新课标全国卷II的完形填空的最后一段。

【解析】在前文叙事的基础上, 本段是议论部分, 揭示了短文的主题。她的微笑、点头和积极为顾客服务的态度, 都是无声的信号, 无法通过电线传递给他人。因此第59题应填friend-liness“友善”, 第60题应填attitude (态度) 。

3. 结合语境, 确定选项。

文章是由句子与句子的紧密相连而构成的, 而不是随意拼合而成的。因此做完形填空题时, 不能只从空格所在的句子入手, 还应该根据句子所在的语境进行推断和选择。例如2016年新课标全国卷II的完形填空的第46题:

【解析】如果单从句子来看, 答案很难确定, 但是结合作者本人的经历可知, 作者原来以为旅行社的工作人员Rani是个冷若冰霜的人, 见面后却发现她和蔼可亲, 善解人意。由此可知, 虽然电话的功能强大, 但是给人的印象可能是不准确的。因此第46题应填accurate。

4. 依据角色, 推测行为。

叙事类完形填空中经常会出现描述性的文字, 因此考生应从生活实际出发, 根据对角色的描述, 推测文章中人物的行为。例如2016年新课标全国II卷完形填空的第四段:

【解析】如果仅仅看这一段文字, 考生在填空时, 很可能无从下手。但是, 如果考生能站在作者的角度考虑, 结合上文中谈到的在紧急的情况下, Rani快速为“我”安排好了行程这个情节, 可判断第55题应填C, “我”充满感激地 (gratefully) 走出旅行社。当“我”询问她的名字后, 她告诉“我”她是Rani。“我”回头看到的是一个友善的 (pleasant) 女人, 满脸微笑, 挥手祝愿“我”一路顺风。“我”顿时哑口无言 (speech-less) 。我今天看到的是一个和蔼可亲的 (nice) Rani。但是此前, 我一直认为她冷若冰霜。

5. 瞻前顾后, 顺藤摸瓜。

完形填空中的空格不是孤立的, 而是上下文的一个连接点。有的空格在前面有信息暗示, 有的空格则在后面有信息暗示。例如2016年新课标全国卷II完形填空的第一段:

【解析】文章的第一句不设空, 概括了电话的强大功能:虽然从来没有见过你 (met you) , 但是很多人根据办公桌上小小的装置对你形成了印象。有时在千里之外, 他们对你的了解就来自于 (came through) 这个装置。但是 (Yet) 他们感觉他们仅仅 (just) 凭借你的声音就可以了解你。这都说明电话 (telephone) 是多么的强大。根据上下文进行推理和判断, 考生能够找到解题的线索, 最终锁定最佳答案。

6. 分析语意, 推断逻辑。

完形填空所选的文章总是按照某一逻辑顺序逐渐展开。因此, 考生在做完形填空题时应该透过字里行间, 抓住文章的行文逻辑, 按照文章发展的逻辑顺序确定用词。例如2016年新课标全国卷III完形填空的前两段:

【解析】文首不设空, 为考生提供了故事发生的背景。13岁时, 我最大的梦想就是想成为校足球队的明星。当一位球星意味着我得击败 (beating out) 米勒·金, 因为他当时是我们校足球队的最佳球员 (player) 。

足球季在九月开始。所以整个夏天我都在刻苦训练。为了好好练习 (practice) , 无论我去哪里我都带着足球。结合句意和逻辑关系, 可知第21题选B, 第22题选D, 第23题选A。

7. 每空必填, 不留空白。

考试时, 考生可能会出现把握不准、难以作答的情况。这时, 考生切不可慌张, 应冷静思考, 找出答案。如果实在无法确定答案, 在交卷前, 务必根据自己的感觉在答卷上填上自己认为正确的答案, 千万不能留空格。因为填入了答案就有得分的可能, 如果没有填入答案, 就只能是零分。

四、备考建议

目前进行的高考改革要把语言放到一个更高的层次, 即语篇的层次, 来考查学生理解语篇, 使用词汇、使用语法的能力, 这是改革的趋势所在。要想做好完形填空题, 考生首先应具备较强的阅读能力。那么考生应该如何应对完形填空题呢?

1. 增加阅读量, 提升阅读能力。

从表面来看, 完形填空涉及对英语词汇和短语的考查, 而实际上主要考查考生对英语文章的理解能力, 要求考生根据具体的语境对空格处的意思进行推测, 从而选出正确答案。因此, 考生复习时, 必须把英语阅读理解放到首位, 通过长期大量阅读原汁原味英语文章和复述英语短文是培养考生语感和提高完形填空做题速度和准确性的有效途径。

2. 积累词汇和语法知识。

由于高考完形填空注重对实词的考查, 考生应在平时的学习中注重对实词的积累, 尤其是词义丰富的动词、名词、形容词和副词等。不仅要能记住某个单词, 还要能记住与之相关的习惯搭配。要关注常用词语一词多义的现象, 尽量多记几个意思。

对于这些云南人关注度极高的教育发展问题,在今年云南省“两会”期间,省教育厅厅长何金平接受记者专访,给予了一一解答。何金平表示,目前正在研究制定《云南省考试招生制度改革方案》,该方案将在2017年秋季高一学生入学时开始启动,到2020年高考全面实施。此外,各地正按照省教育厅的安排,制定当地随迁子女在流入地参加普通高中录取的具体办法,并从2015年秋季学期开始实施。

记者:全国高考试点已经在浙江和上海展开,我省将考虑学习哪个试点省份的做法?相关的方案现在是否制定完成?报送程序走到了哪步?大致方向如何?

何金平:我省根据《国务院关于深化考试招生制度改革的实施意见》,借鉴上海、浙江试点经验,结合我省实际,在调研、论证的基础上,目前正在研究制定《云南省考试招生制度改革方案》,将于2015年6月30日前报省政府审定后再报教育部备案。该方案将在2017年秋季高一学生入学时开始启动,到2020年高考全面实施。

云南高考加分方案正在报批中

记者:去年底,教育部对高考加分政策进行了调整。我省将保留哪些本地加分政策?

何金平:我省根据教育部、国家民委、公安部、国家体育总局、中国科学技术协会等五部委联发的《关于进一步减少和规范高考加分项目和分值的意见》,拟定了《云南省关于进一步减少和规范高考加分项目和分值实施方案》。目前,该方案正在按程序报批中,经教育部备案后,将及时向社会公布实施。

今年将争取更多“985”“211”高校招生计划

记者:作为教育水平欠发达的云南,如何为更多的孩子争取进入高校的机会?如何增加更多的优质高校的招生指标?

何金平:2014年,教育部下达我省招生计划比2013年增加。在录取前期和录取过程中,我省抢抓教育部牵头滇西扶贫的机遇,并积极与省外高校协调,多所教育部直属高校不同程度地给我省增加了计划,更多的云南考生进入了优质高校学习。与此同时,通过实施国家和地方专项计划,使我省农村考生上一本线增长率高于全国平均增长率。

2015年,我们将积极向教育部和“985”“211”高校反映云南实际,为我省考生争取更多的优质招生计划。

外来娃今年起可在流入地参加中考

记者:昆明市将在今年中考中,有条件地允许考生进行异地中考及高中学校志愿填报。全省层面的异地中考将在何时全面推开?对参加异地中考的学生又有哪些要求?

何金平:2014年11月,为引导学校进一步落实国家课程方案,有效减轻学生过重的学业负担,结合国家和省教育综合改革要求,在深入调研、多方征求意见的基础上,厅党组研究决定,对全省初中学业水平方案进行了进一步调整、完善和优化,并印发了《云南省初中学生学业水平考试方案(试行)》。

方案要求各州(市)教育局要认真做好进城务工人员随迁子女入学工作。一是随迁子女在流入地接受义务教育期间,可以在流入地参加初中学生学业水平考试。学业水平考试(含考查)成绩合格、综合素质评价合格,由报考点的县级教育行政部门颁发九年义务教育证书。学业水平考试成绩在全省范围内同等有效。

二是各地要根据招生计划、当地优质高中教育资源、随迁子女的分布数量、城市功能定位和产业结构布局等,并结合进城务工人员在当地的合法稳定职业、合法稳定住所(含租赁)和按照国家规定参加社会保险年限等情况,按照全省的统一要求,将随迁子女在流入地有条件地参加普通高中录取工作纳入计划,于2014年内制定随迁子女在流入地参加普通高中录取的具体办法,并从2015年秋季学期开始实施。

目前,各地正按照省教育厅的安排,制定当地随迁子女在流入地参加普通高中录取的具体办法。

此外,在“做好农民工随迁子女就学工作”方面,为了尽可能使外来务工人员子女进入公办学校就读,同时使他们接受和城里的孩子一样质量的教育,昆明市采取了一系列对策和措施,努力解决外来务工人员随迁子女就学问题。

云南教育国际化步伐加快

记者:云南教育在对外交流合作方面取得了哪些成绩?今年有哪些亮点?

何金平:云南教育外事工作充分利用国家实施“一带一路”战略规划和我省建设孟中印缅经济走廊的有利机遇,坚持改革创新,积极开展多层次、宽领域的教育交流与合作,不断推进云南教育国际化进程。

2010至2014年,国家公派留学项目云南共录取52人,其中2014年国家公派出国留学云南录取人数就达到24人,首次实现个位数的突破,较2013年录取人数9人增长了近2倍。2010至2014年,西部地区人才培养特别项目共录取420人,云南省地方公派出国留学项目共录取307人。

2014年,省教育厅审核云南财经大学和云南农业大学申报的2个本科层次中外合作办学项目,并上报教育部审批。2015年1月,2个项目均得到教育部批准,具体为:云南财经大学与法国瓦岱勒国际酒店与旅游管理商学院合作举办酒店管理专业本科教育项目,云南农业大学与英国胡弗汉顿大学合作举办土木工程专业本科教育项目。目前,我省经教育部批准的本科及以上层次中外合作办学项目达到10个。

云南教育国际化

引进来

2014年,我省共有各类外国来滇留学生18 667人。其中,高校招收留学生9 690人,比2013年的9 338人增加3.77%;中小学校(含幼儿园)招收留学生7 798人;各类语言培训生1 179人。

走出去

我省有5所学校在7个国家建成4所孔子学院和6个孔子课堂。受国家汉办/孔子学院总部委托,2012~2014年,我省连续举办了第五、六、七届“汉语桥”世界中学生中文比赛。

昆明“外来娃”就学人数已占义务教育阶段在校生总数近3成

据不完全统计,截至2014年底,昆明市义务教育阶段外来务工人员随迁子女为20.46万人,比2013年净增0.23万人,占义务教育阶段在校生总数的29.02%。
