我校是一所综合高中,有5000多名学生,学生的总成绩比普高的差,比其他职业高中的要好,大多数学生其他科都好,就是英语基础知识相对薄弱。特别是提起写英语作文他们就头痛。

一. 学生英语写作中存在的主要问题:

1. 语法错误,主要是初中的八个主要时态、语态和名词单复数的错误,以及主谓不一致、指代不一致、句子混乱、成分不全等。

2. 汉语影响了英语表达,有些学生习惯把汉语生搬硬套地翻译成英语,找不到能充分表达准确意思的、地道的词语或表达方式;如翻译这样一个句子:浙江将要建一个飞机场,85%以上的学生都错误地翻译成:Zhejiang will build a new airport.3. 句子趋于单调重复,缺乏变化,不能根据需要灵活选择不同的单词、短语和不同的句式结构

4. 篇章主题不够明确,时间、地点、人物、事件、具体事例不能清楚表达出来。

5. 语篇结构松散、布局凌乱,缺乏合适的衔接和过渡。

国家新一轮基础教育课程改革之风吹遍了全国中小学校。怎样才能紧跟新形势, 把《英语课程标准》的理念渗透到英语课堂教学中,进一步提高教学质量呢?以往的高考英语题中书面表达题只有一道,占25分。今年广东题增加了书面表达题型的题量和分数,英语书面表达为两题,占40分,第一题为基础写作,第二题为任务型写作。这一变化趋势也体现了《新课标》注重英语思维和表达能力的培养这一教学目标。这也促使我下定决心在写作教学和研究方面下更深的功夫。英语作文教学向来是英语教学中的难点, 学生写作的确也存在着各种各样的问题。

二. 怎样才能提高学生的写作能力呢?

首先需要我们广大外语教师能端正思想,认真对待,决不可以掉以轻心。

平时注意用恰当的方法,不断地钻研、积累更多的切实可行的英语作文写作模式教给学生, 全面了解和贯彻新课标理念。这也不失为快速﹑有效﹑全面地解决问题, 提高学生英语写作水平的好方法。

其次,我们的老师需要对学生能进行有计划、有步骤地系统训练。

因为英语是一门语言,他同汉语一样,句子的表达多种多样,词汇的运用千变万化,熟练的运用人称、时态、搭配以及组句成段、连段成篇、谋篇布局、承转润色等能力并非一日功夫可达,要靠长期苦练才能获得。经多年教学实践证明,通过分阶段对学生进行有系统的训练,效果非常显著。就像我们背诵英语课文,如果每次都把全文读一遍,读了几十遍也不一定能背诵出来,而且效率很低。但是如果把课文分成一段一段一句一句的背诵,那么效果就很好,花很短的时间就能背诵出来,而且感觉轻松愉快。下面本人就2003年到2007年一个周期多分阶段逐步提高学生的写作能力的实践总结如下,与大家共勉。高一:重点抓“遣词造句”和组句成段,组段成篇的训练

1.打好词汇量基础

词汇是英语写作必不可少的基本要求,要写好一篇作文来充分表达自己的思想,必须以足够的词汇量为基础,但实际上大多数学生掌握的词汇量都达不到规定的要求,因而在写作时也就不能随心所欲地表达自己的思想。往往在写作中出现下列问题:拼写错误,影响理解;词语误用,表达不准确; 某一词语反复使用,语言表达缺乏变式,文章显得单调乏味;文章中出现大量“造词”,让人看了啼笑皆非等。显然词汇量不足已成为制约学生写作的瓶颈。因此,在平时的教学中,重点培养学生拼读记忆单词的能力,掌握音标这个记忆单词的工具,通过音标去记单词;通过经常听写单词、常用词汇、固定搭配或专项听写训练,不断积累大量词汇,为写作打下扎实的基础。

2.理顺句型结构

而英文句子主要成分是否残缺、是否地道,很大程度上取决于英语习惯用语和句型的掌握程度。因此,可要求学生对所学的常见句型和习惯用语口头反复操练,以达到烂熟于心、脱口而出的程度。

首先训练学生的八个时态和被动语态,举一些例子,让学生反复操练。如:他唱歌。让学生用八个时态很熟练的说出来: He sings the song every day;He sang the song yesterday;He will sing the song tomorrow;He would sing the song the next day;He is singing the song now.He was singing the song at that time.He has already sung the song;He had already sung the song by the time of ten o`clock.如果学生不熟悉,又用其他动词继续练习,直到掌握为止。然后让学生把这些句子改为被动语态。熟练掌握英语各种句子的时态和语态的表达法是写好英语作文的重中之重,我们高一教师一定要在这方面花大力气。

其次训练学生五个基本句型。通过五个基本句型的训练,使学生清楚的明白英语句子的主谓宾表定状补的位置,同时准确无误的灵活的运用英语写出五个简单句。

然后让学生掌握一些固定的句式,如It`s adj.that/to和make it easier for Sb.to do sth.就是比较典型的句型, 上课时通过造多个句子或翻译多个句子来记住这类句型,考试时,就可套用这种句型造出正确优美的句子。同时有意识的给学生提供一些原汁原味的英语句子,让他们背诵,培养学生语感和用英语思维的习惯。通过背诵向学生输入大量有效信息并积累素材,这样学生在表达自己的思想时,才能呼之欲出,信手拈来。

俗话说,“万丈高楼从地起”,因此这个阶段是最重要的,也是最艰苦最漫长的的阶段,通过培养学生记忆单词的能力和反复练习句子时态和各种句型,学生不仅熟练地掌握了所学的新单词和短语,而且更清晰的领悟了“英语句子”的来龙去脉,为以后的作文打下坚实的基础。

3、进行组句成段,组段成篇的训练

1、根据所给的关键词和中文的提示来写作文,这样组词成句、组句成段使作文快速提高的效果很明显。

如学完新课标必修2Unit4 Wildlife Protection后,给学生布置了一篇作文。

According to the hints and key words given below, write a passage including about 80 wordsHints:马是非常有用的动物。通常有约1.5米高,重约300千克。马长着两只小耳朵,一个长长的脑袋和四条强壮的腿。他们跑得很快,背上能驮带重物。他们喜欢吃草。野马以群居为主,人们养马,用马做事。现在,许多过去用马做的事已被卡车和拖拉机所取代。Key words:useful,one and a half high,weigh,kilogram,have,run,carry,wild horses,stay in very large families,keep horses,used to be done,trucks and tractors

这种说明性质的文章,同学们无需考虑时态变化,只需运用key words和正确的关联词,组词成句翻译好后就是一篇好文章了。

2、通过回答问题的形式来写文章,学生感觉比较轻松,如上完必修1Unit5Nelson Mandela—a modern hero后,让学生课后读一篇名人传记,通过回答下列问题后组合成一篇文章.Who is he/she? What dose he/she do? What`s his/her nationality?

When/Where was he/she born? Where was he/she educated?

What contributions has he/she made to the world? What do you learn from him/her?

3.训练时遵循人的认识规律,由简到繁、由浅入深。先从句子入手,再过度到写短文。如以写一篇题为Our school 的短文为例,最初只给四五个句子的提示,学生写出几个简单句即成,以后把提示内容逐步增加,把难度逐步提高。这种缓坡式的训练,使学生写做水平逐步提高,而不觉得苦和累。

高二:重点进行“模仿创造”——仿写、缩写、改写文章和修改润色文章

一、仿写、缩写、改写文章

结合新课标课文进行仿写、缩写、改写训练,有利于巩固所学的词汇、短语、句型及背诵课文。那种撇开课文,另找材料进行写作的训练方法是不可取的。新课标课文体裁多样,语言规范。结合课文进行练习,能使学生运用课文中的词语、句型及规范搭配,写出地道的英语句子。对课文结构进行分析,找出一些关联词,学生领悟之后,就能写出结构比较严谨、层次比较清楚的短文。例如,让学生在学了必修4Unit4Body language后写一篇题为My teacher的短文,要求学生写出老师的外貌、性格、教学态度、上课的教姿教态、课堂常用语以及和学生的关系等,学生仿写起来就比较得心应手。

如学了必修4Unit2Working the land后, 让学生自己用中文口头概括一下本文的主题大意,再用英语Retell the story in 60—80 words。特别要学会袁隆平先生一心为公为民,无私奉献的精神。学生们写出来的文章思路都非常清楚,从他们的缩写作文可以看出,他们的身心都得到很大的震撼和进步。

通过高一扎扎实实的训练,学生大多能正确运用所学词语并做到行文通畅。到了高二,重点进行全面的系统的训练,熟悉各种文体以及各种文体的格式和不同文体常用的人称和时态。如记叙文(Narration)要明确四要素:时间、地点、人物、事件,特别注意时态;说明文和描写文(Exposition and Description)

要求把事物解说和描述清楚就行;书信格式由信头(Heading)、称呼(Salutation)、正文(Body)、结束语(Ending)和签名(Signature)几个部分构成。通知和便条(Notice and note)必须说清楚时间、地点和活动内容;日记(Diary)

开始写好日期、周日、天气情况,正文写下当天所见、所闻、所感和所经历的事情;其他还有电话留言,寻物启事和个人简历等。不仅让学生清楚的记住上述各种文体,而且重点掌握这些文体的格式,笔者认为要熟练掌握他们的固定格式,最好的方法是同一类型的作文反复练习写两次或多次。

二、重在修改和润色文章

写作文就象学骑车和开车一样,重在修改。写好一篇英语作文, 掌握一定的写作技巧, 应把握以下几个步骤:

首先要认真审题立意,明确主题。定文章之灵魂对命题作文必须认真审题,对自由作文必须立好意。文章要有明确的主题,必须具备4个条件:准确、鲜明、深刻、集中。要围绕题目这个关键的题眼进行作文。

其次要注意结构合理,层次清楚。草拟提纲,打造文章之骨架审好题和立好意。文章布局要做好3件事:安排好层次段落,铺设好过渡,处理好开头和结尾。如命题作文中有提示句,还要从提示句的关键词出发,围绕关键词开拓思路,发挥联想,记录下联想到的东西,可以是句子或单词词组,可以是英语或汉语。

其三要写出段落主题句。每段的主题句非常重要,是作者思维的起点,切题的准绳,阐述的对象。看到段落主题句,读者大致了解段落要阐述的内容。段落主题句通常是一个语法结构完整、内容概括、用词简洁明了的单句。通常将段落主题句置于段落的开头,可使文章结构

更清晰,有说服力。

其四是注意句子通顺流畅。

1、检验的标准主要是句子是否通畅,句子衔接是否自然流畅,该用连词的地方用了没有,所用的连词是否合适。平时让学生学会使用过渡词。如:1)递进:further more, moreover, besides, in addition, then etc.2)转折:however, but, nevertheless, after all etc.3)总结:finally, at last, in brief, to conclude。4)强调:really, indeed, certainly, surely, above all etc.5)对比:in the same way, just as, on the other hand, etc.

2、避免写错单词或重复使用同一单词或词组。做书面表达时,我们常常会碰到这种情况:一个意思往往因一个单词不会而表达不清;一个好的句子因一个单词想不起来而不能完成。面对这种情况,该如何应对呢?下面介绍三种简便易行的应急措施,希望能对同学们有所帮助。1)、换用笼统词 2)、换用同义词、反义词 3)、换用迂回表达。

3. 避免句子冗长。尽量使用清楚、简洁、明了的简单句等等。

老师在批改他们的作文时,除了把错的纠正过来,最好加一些评语“Good”、“Excellent、well done”等,让学生有成就感,学生们觉得写作文也不是一件很困难的事。

在训练过程中要和课文相结合,以课文为本,再配上我们教师精心准备的内容一步一个脚印的来训练。根据新课程理念和我自己多年积累的经验。辅导学生作文,05级4班李甜同学在“全国中小学生《学英语》杯英语征文大赛”中荣获全国三等奖。本人也获得三等辅导奖。高三阶段,大多学生已经在工作岗位实习。在职位上历练自己的英语写作水平,并使之趋向于成熟,成为这一阶段学习的重点。对英语专业在职人员来说, 熟练掌握英语写作技能是其立身之本。

“不积跬步,无以致千里,不积小流,无以成江海”。实践证明:有计划、有目的的训练要比杂乱无章的训练效果要好得多。持之以恒、分阶段实施比高

长期以来,在英语教学中,关于如何对待高一年级学生写作中的错误,一直是许多青年教师和学生们感到困惑的问题。在教师一方,每当看见学生交来的作业中,错误又多,并反复重犯,批改起来,既费时,又无新意,就感到心烦头痛。我也有过同感。反观学生一方,他们一般写作认真,总担心出错,可偏又总是错误不断。

其实,在外语教学过程中,学生出错误是种非常自然的现象。就象Krashen指出的:“人们不犯错误,就学不会语言。”然而,学生学习的进步与提高,固然要靠获得新知;但是,能使他们努力改正自己认知上的和使用上的错误,对其知识和能力的进步与提高来说,其意义和价值尤为不可低估。通过长期教学实践和探讨,我逐渐认识到,学生在写作时,能否避免出错或少出错,关键还是在教师。在于教师能否耐心地、认真细致地去研究学生的每个错误;在于教师能否掌握学生为什么常出这样或那样错误;在于教师能否对症下病,找出相应的有效改正方法。此外,我还领悟到这样一个微妙道理,即学生在写作中流露出来的错误,往往对教师的教学很重要,有时还很有价值。于是,我得出个结论,即采取正确对待学生英语写作中错误的态度,运用“把坏事变好事”的转变式主导教学艺术,而这其中也体现着教师的教学素质。

下边就我教高一时,针对解决这一长期存在问题的探讨、分析,以及采取的一些有成效转变手段,作一

简明论证。

首先,我对学生写作中所犯的形形色色错误,粗略归纳为两大类。

第一类:概念型的错误

第二类:创造型或发挥型错误

先看第一类错误。这些错误很明显是受“母语”干扰的缘故,整个句子反映的是本族语的结构。例如学生经常犯的时态错误,总是忘记改写动词的形式,因为汉语就没有动词时态变化,有的只是时间状语的变化。再如,In our school has a big Playground.学生往往按照汉语的顺序,一个字换一个字的去泽,忽视了中英文的语序并非完全一样的概念。犯此类错误的另种原因,就是练得不够,不能做到将正确形式脱口而出,信手拈来。甚至一般现在时第三人称单数动词加„s‟这种语法现象,学生对此概念本已非常清楚,但仍屡屡一做题就错,说明学生从明白到学会,到熟练掌握英语的特性,必须要经过一段训练过程,也即要有足够的操练。熟练掌握是练出来的,不是背会的,那种盲目地让学生反反复复地背时态结构,是不明智的。再看第二类错误。这类错误一如孩提学说话时出现的“错误”现象,意思能使你琢磨出来,只是用词不当或不会章法。语言学习也是一种创作和发挥,当我们的学生要表达自己的意思,但又由于词语不丰,一时确定不了如何表达时,他们就倾向创作了。所以在学生的作文里,我们常会看到一些创作。例如,It is raining strongly.学生造句的用意,我们可以理解到,可在句子中究竟应该用什么词来修饰雨呢?是big?是great?是heavy?是strong?是hard?等等,正是由于他们拿不准,所以便自己创造了。

基于上述这样认真分析并查明原因后,我曾设想过多种改进措施,并学习他人的先进经验,经过反复实践和操练,终于使学生写作中的错误现象大有改观。多数学生从屡出错转变为偶出错。现将我感到作用较大、收效突出的几项措施,归纳如下:

一、高一年级学生刚刚开始练习写作,我认为教师先不要急于让学生成篇写作,应在教师的控制下,采取循序渐进的步骤,即让学生先练句,再练段,最后练文。

二、结合学生实际,在练习写作前,可先介绍一些短篇名作,让学生去背。通过背诵,让学生慢慢领会英语语言特性,名作的字句结构特点,以及文章中的妙笔等。如此耳濡目染,时间一久,自己的思维、表达也会渐渐成习,这极有助于学生借镜、模仿、脱口而出、信手拈来。在此基础上,再自己造句、练段、成文,其效果会更佳。

三、学生交作业前,教师要先让他们自查错误,或两人一组交互检查。我认为这既是一种指导法,也是一种督促力度。作用力强,印象深刻,效果也比教师包揽起来强的多。

四、教师在评阅学生作文时,不要急于替学生改错,最好把错处用线条划出来,并提出鼓励性意见或评

语,让学生自己去修改,去积极思维,去分辨。最后收上来,教师再批改。
