一、“1+1+1”模式

1.课程定位、课程设置

学院规定,英语课程属于必修公共基础课程。课程设置以学生可持续发展能力需求和职业需求为主线,开设基础英语、行业英语和英语选修课程。基础英语属于通识课程,学时统一。行业英语属于专业选修课程,学时因岗位英语需求而定。英语选修课程包括 “专升本英语”“英文电影赏析”等。

教 、 学资源库: 教学课件以及教师自编 。

2.教学模式

学院采取分层教学模式。第一,统一组织新生进行入学英语测试。以系为单位,根据测试成绩,确定分层基准分数,进行分层、分班。第二,明确分层后班级学生名单。第三,根据实际需求,组织分班调整测试。第四,统一将分层后班级的学生人数、班级构成、学生名册、授课教师、授课地点等资料发送教务处、督导室、系部、学生处等相关部门。第五,分层教学计划制订小组根据学生实际英语基础,统一制订基础班级、提高班级教学计划。

Overusing the natural resources has already affected the ecological balance. However, the factories still release the toxic air into the sky and the polluted water into the rivers. People still lack of the conscious of protecting the environment. I think it’s time for all of us to do something.

The government should put forward some more strict laws to prevent the environment from being further polluted. And they should let people know more about the importance of environment protection. And we should find the balance between the economic growth and environmental protection. Plant more trees in the deserts and stop cutting down the forest. Forbid the factories to pour the waste water into the rivers directly. Encourage people to use public transportations to work. Both government and ordinary people should join hands together to make our home clean and fresh again. Only in this way, our earth could be a better place to live in.

秉承着教书育人的使命, 我们英语教师一直在教育教学的道路上探索最适宜学生发展的模式。山东杜郎口中学, 昌乐二中, 江苏洋思中学, 河北衡水中学……都是教育改革的先行者, 为我校开创“3+1”英语教学模式提供了很好的借鉴。

一、“3+1”课堂模式诠释

《英语课程标准》指出“高中英语教学要鼓励学生通过积极尝试、自我探究、自我发现和主动实践等学习方式, 形成具有高中生特点的英语学习的过程与方法”。为了实践新课程标准中学习方式, 进一步提高课堂教学效率, 我们推行了“3+1”课堂模式。该课堂模式的涵义是:课堂中三个必不可少的环节———小组讨论、分组展示、师生点评;其中“1”指学习小组。

二、学习小组

由英语老师根据总成绩、英语成绩、平时表现等统一安排, 科学划分, 合理搭配, 让不同英语水平、智力水平、思维方式、情趣特长的6-8名学生为一组, 达到能力互补, 性别互补, 性格互补, 成员之间分为三、四个层次, 便于开展讨论。组与组之间学习成绩均衡, 便于各小组间公平竞争。

1.能够建立轻松的课堂气氛。赞可夫认为:“我们要努力使学习充满无拘无束的气氛, 使儿童和教师在课堂上都能够自由地呼吸, 如果不能造就这样良好的教学环境, 那么任何一种教学方法都不可能发挥其应有的作用。”其实, 学生在课堂上最爱小声说话, 那么小组合作学习无疑给他们提供了说话的机会, 让他们把自己在自学中获得的多种印象和感受、怀疑和问题带到课堂上来, 和小组其它成员进行无拘无束地讨论交流, 这样会让学生感到很自由、很轻松。也就解除了往日课堂上常有的那种压抑感, 使他们敢于问、乐于答, 使他们真正体会到课堂是自己活动的天地, 自己是学习的主人。同时, 在小组合作讨论学习中, 教师要巡视参与, 成为小组中的一员, 或倾听学生的见解, 或循循善诱, 耐心引导。师生间是平等、互助的关系, 在不断的讨论交流中, 学生渐渐消除了对老师的戒备心理, 渐渐“亲其师, 信其道”。课堂气氛自然变得十分轻松、活跃。

2.能够提高课堂质量。在小组讨论学习中, 学生不仅要为自己的学习负责, 而且要为本小组的其它同伴的学习负责。因此每个同学都要尽自己的最大努力去学习、互助, 从而完成学习任务。这样一来, 学生不但学会了知识, 还促进了智力因素和非智力因素的和谐发展, 在会学、乐学的愉快气氛中, 提高了学习效率。

3.能够培养学生的交际能力。小组合作学习是同学之间互教互学、彼此之间交流信息的过程, 也是互爱互助、情感交流、心理沟通的过程。小组合作中的学习活动的任务分担与成果共享, 相互交流与相互评价, 使学生能体验到一种被他人接受、信任和认同的情感, 这就为学生社会化程度的提高、交际能力的培养、自我意识的发展提供了充分的条件。

四、小组展示

展示就是学生在“预习”的基础上, 或小组讨论的基础上, 对所学内容进行深入的探究后, 在课堂上把所学知识通过书面形式和言语呈现出来。不仅要展示学生对问题、知识独到的理解和解决问题的创新方法, 还要展示学生规范的解题过程, 展示学生学习中的困惑和疑难。在传统的课堂教学模式里, 学生要掌握的知识和技能是靠老师的讲授来传播的, 事实证明老师讲学生听式的课堂教学模式, 学生没有参与到对知识的探究和讨论中, 在课堂上始终处于被动的接受状态, 难以达到课堂的高效。而“3+1”课堂模式就是搭建一个能展示学生探究成果的平台, 学生变成了课堂的主人, 产生了强烈的学习欲望和主动性, 能有效提高教学质量。

五、师生点评

点评是课堂教学中不可缺少的一种手段, 有效的点评能激励学生更认真地探究、学习。究竟谁是评价的主体?时下课堂上的点评多半停留在教师对学生的评价, 而学生之间的评价很少, 引导学生进行正确的评价是最关键的一步, 学生参与课堂评价是学生认知层次的提高、自我意识的提高。引导学生参与评价, 是为了激发学生自主学习的兴趣, 提高辨别是非的能力, 提供相互沟通和交流的机会。如果学生只会使用“好、对、错了”等简单的词汇进行评价, 就不利于促进学生的思考, 更不利于引导评价的深入。所以教师要把评价的标准和评价的语式“看法+原因”渗透给学生, 这样可以使学生有一把衡量的尺子, 讲清自己的看法, 呈现清晰的思维过程。在学生进行自评和互评时, 教师还要指导学生评价的方法和要领。通过这种客观的评议, 学生体会到什么是真诚, 懂得了赞美与欣赏别人, 学会了宽容。

总而言之, 在进行课题评价工作时, 应纳入新的评价理念, 以学生发展为目的, 遵循评价的整体性、多元性、主体性原则, 力求客观现实地反映学生在活动中的真实表现, 充分发挥评价的学生主体作用, 促进学生能力培养和自信心的逐步树立与增强, 使课程改革成为学生所喜爱的一种无负担、无压力、于无形中得到发展的教育。

六、教学策略

1.编好、用好“导学案”是关键。“导学案”是实现“3+1”教学模式的载体, 是用于指导学生自主学习、主动参与、合作探究的学习工具, 是学生学习的路线图, 具有“导学、导思、导练”的作用。有了它, 上课的目的性更强, 学生也更明确地知道自己的任务。在课堂中应用得当对一堂课会产生很大的作用。

2.创设贴近学生生活的情境。在英语课堂中, 教师的中介作用是借助语言环境。通过创设语言环境, 寻找贴近学生生活或者熟悉的例子, 在已有知识的基础上, 使他们不断构建新的知识, 从而达到知识的积累和语言的习得。例如, 在讲解语言点时, 可以先通过已经学习过的课文中的句子, 让学生根据这些熟悉的例句来猜测生词或词组的意思, 教师再加以适当的提示和补充。

3.教师进行适时适当的启发、点拨。在英语课堂教学中, 教师的启发和点拨是做到互动教学的合理运用的前提。教师要启发指导学生进行各项活动, 给学生创造更多的机会来应用所学到的知识和技能。同时, 教师是课堂的引导者和监控者, 可以起到反馈性指导的作用, 教师应随时查看学生的进度和方向, 使之朝着共同的教学目标进行。在讲解知识的过程中, 要随时关注学生的变化。例如, 是否在记笔记, 有没有思考问题, 还可以停顿一下, 问学生有没有听懂了, 能不能接受等等。

4.引导学生自学。“3+1”课堂模式的英语教学是以学生自学为基础的一种教学模式。学生首先根据学习目标和要求, 阅读材料, 然后去思考问题、探求知识。在高中英语课堂中, 大多数的高中生对教师仍存在着很强的依赖心理, 不懂得发挥自己的主观能动性。因此, 教师可以通过设问一步步引导学生去发现问题、思考问题, 再解决问题, 最后总结经验。学生在自学的过程中, 也会发现学英语的乐趣, 使他们积极愉快地去从事获取知识信息的这些活动。这是一种相互尊重、相互交流、相互理解的互动过程, 是英语教学互动模式的基础。在教学过程中, 可以从生活常识、生活中的例子, 或者已经学习过的知识的基础上, 加以引导。

5.鼓励学生参与小组讨论。“3+1”课堂模式强调的是互动性。因此, 要坚持激励原则。提高学生的学习积极性, 做到少批评多表扬, 少下结论多帮助, 少抱怨多鼓励。鼓励学生发言, 并给予表扬, 增强其自信心, 使他们都能畅所欲言。课后还可以问学生意见, 问他们“上课内容会不会太多, 能不能听懂, 语速会不会太快”等等问题。通过沟通来了解学生的需要, 进而改进课堂教学。生生互动式的交流, 可以让学生体验到学习英语的快乐, 而师生互动式的交流更能让学生获得快乐学英语的享受。

总之, 教学有法, 但无定法, 贵在得法。我们必须一切从教材实际出发, 从学生实际出发, 顺乎学情, 讲究实效, 灵活运用。努力践行“3+1”英语课堂模式。

【关键词】大学英语改革 课程设置 理论

在2007年颁布的《大学英语课程教学要求》更是进一步推动了大学英语教学改革的进程。《大学英语课程教学要求》对大学英语的教学性质和目的做了如下阐述:“大学英语是以外语教学理论为指导,以英语语言知识与应用技能、跨文化交际和学习策略为主要内容,并集多种教学模式和教学手段为一体的教学体系。” 在这一要求的指导下,各大高校纷纷从实践中探求大学英语新的课程设置模式和学习体系。而在理论上,大学英语学习也进行了一些学术之争,最初是科技英语与普通英语之争,之后是听说为主与阅读为主之争,现在进入了通识化教育与学术英语之争。大学英语的性质是基础英语,或叫通用英语(EGP)。大学英语的目的就是打语言基础。现在的大学英语教学存在很多弊端,反映在学生上课无兴趣,逃课严重,同时学生感到学习重复,课程脱离实际的社会需要,同学们的学习动力都到了过四、六级上去了。而老师的抱怨也很多,一方面来自学生的厌学情绪,另一方面来自对课程设置、教材不合理的抱怨。在这种压力下,国内的许多本科院校都选择了压缩英语学分。甚至有些学者提出了高校“去英语化”的理念。重庆市内的高校基本采取了学生过四级后就可以不修英语,这也是变相缩减英语学分。对学生来说过级就成了他们的学习目标,对老师来说,课时量就会不足。而现实又是矛盾的,中国非英语专业学生的英语水平是达不到我们大学英语教纲的要求的。而反观香港和台湾大学,普遍把原来3年学制改为4年学制,英语学分也增加了。

在这一环境下,我国一些重点院校如复旦、浙大、北大等都对大学英语的课程设置进行改革。都是把通识化教育与学术英语两者结合起来,这一理论得到了一些肯定,但是笔者认为通识教育和学术英语不是机械地编排起来,期间应该有一个过渡的阶段即素质和高技能英语。这才能让学生在大学学习英语有一个完整的体系,即现在讨论的大学英语“1+2+1”三个阶段的完整学习模式,而这种模式也是本文的创新之处。第一阶段基础英语(也叫通识英语),第二阶段分为两步:高级技能和人文素质课,第三阶段才是学术英语。这种模式是在充分考虑到了大学英语教学大纲和要求,社会需求,学生和教师需求上在前期其他学者所创建的大学英语学习模式上重新创建的一种模式。

从现行大学英语学习的模式和学习现状看,教学效果与新时期教育部大学英语教纲的要求相差甚远。因此,大学英语完整学习模式的改革的重点和关键便在于课程改革。

课程改革设置需要满足以下四项要素:课程理论分析、学生需求分析、教师需求分析、社会需求分析。新模式要符合上述四要素的需求,同时要结合教师的业务水平和学生的整体素质来确定新模式中课程的设置。

换个角度来说,也就是说大学英语课程设置的应该是具有个性化、多元化和市场化或社会化的协调发展。而建构主义的理论完善了课程设置的可行性。人本主义教学观认为,教育的作用在于促进学生的内在学习,内在学习是依靠内在驱动开发潜能的、自我实现式的学习,是一种自觉的、主动的、创造性的学习模式。所以传统的课程设置已经不再符合时代的要求了,所以大学英语课程设置要以科学的理论为指导,在训练学生语言技能的同时,注重学生学习兴趣和自主学习能力的培养,同时可拓展学生的文化视野。只有个性化的学习才能使学生更加的投入和自主地学习。

多元化体现在五彩缤纷的课程设置上。开设选修课本身就是课程多元化的一种表现。课程设置的多元化也势必会带来教学内容的多元化、教学手段的多元化和教学目的的多元化。在根据学生要求的调研后,根据教师的所学专业和研究方向,开设更多的英语课程。在多元化的基础上,新的课程设置既满足了学生的要求也满足了教师进行各自科研和教学并进的要求。

社会化是大学英语改革的前提和动力。社会的要求和新时代的要求是我们进行课程设置改革的动力,是我们的改革目标。也是我们大学英语新大纲的宗旨之一。大学英语大纲明确指出此课程的目标不仅仅是语言的沟通,而且还应培养学生的文化素质和异国文化的知识传授。这一目标的确定也要求我们在教学理念上有所转变,不能单纯地注重语言知识和技能的传授。社会发展不仅是需要专门技术的人才,而且需要有较宽的知识面,符合社会需求,专注于学生个人持续发展的“全才”,而我们的 “通识”教育就是解决这些需求的钥匙。

因此,大学外语课程设置的改革应该具有个性化、多元化和市场化的要求,同时符合课程设置的四大要素的需求。
