现在生活中的许多使用物品都是国外的品牌, 甚至很多人认为使用国外的品牌比较有面子, 上档次, 如LV, Dior, PLAYBOY等。这是一个英语比较盛行的年代, 也是生活英语大发展的时代, 在日常的生活用品中, 中外贸易的增多和人民生活水平的提高, 为英语提供了广阔的发展舞台, 很多人常常说英语离我们很远, 中国人不太使用英语。的确, 中国人使用英语口语的频率不高, 但是日常生活与英语的联系太大了, 如现在的情人节、圣诞节、愚人节都是英语的节日。

(3) 生活口语

生活口语主要是指英语口语在日常生活中的使用和变异。即使很多人说自己不会说英语, 自己不懂英语, 但是几乎所有的人都会说:I am…I’m come from…This is my friend等等。

很多人遇到在中国生活的外国人或者外国留学生时都会说What can I do for you, 他们像说汉语一样很自然地说出这些句子, 可见英语在日常生活的交流中已经很普遍了。在生活英语中, 有一种英语口语比较特殊, 就是生活口语的变异, 类似于“洋泾浜语”, 就是在生活中, 中文和英语混用, 比如说, 有人在餐厅里问服务员“我要一杯coffee”, coffee的音译是咖啡, 有时人们会说出真正的发音, 而不是音译, 这就是生活英语在口语中的应用。

2 高校英语教学生活英语的开发

(1) 将使用频率高的英语词汇编入教材

在高校英语教学中, 要选取生活中使用频率比较高的英语词汇编入教材。这些词汇比较贴近学生日常生活, 有利于学生的英语学习和应用。英语是为了将来学生在工作或者生活中与外国人员交流使用才开设的。但是英语课程教学中, 很多学生觉得学英语没有多大的用处, 除非将来从事的工作与英语有关, 这样造成很多学生本来英语就学不好, 觉得没有任何实际作用, 更没有学的兴趣了。例如, 在日常生活中, 学生经常会去图书馆, 就可以将一些图书馆借书的用语编写到教材中。如这样一段对话:

正确使用英语口语, 就要求多使用单个的词汇, 同时对于简短的句子发音要准确, 不要把I Love You说成是“爱老虎油”。学生可以根据自己在学校所学的知识, 将学到的词汇和模拟演习里的词汇在生活里真正展示出来, 这样就能将口语真正地应用于生活了。
